Mental Health: Is Lloyds Changing?

15 Feb 2018

In October last year, the Government published a report called 'Thriving at work: The Stevenson / Farmer review of mental health and employers' which found that "the UK is facing a mental health challenge at work that is much larger than we had thought".

"The UK could and should be one of the leading nations in relation to mental health. If theUK prioritises mental health at work, we can become global leaders in reducing stigma, improving the mental health of the population and support for those who need it, and in the process improve the UK's productivity."

The report says: "There is a large annual cost to employers of between £33 billion and £42 billion (with over half of the cost coming from presenteeism - when individuals are less productive due to poor mental health in work) with additional costs from sickness absence and staff turnover."
